How to change URL of your blogspot URL

Steps to change a blog's URL  in Blogger:

1. log into Dashboard
2. click on the relevant blog
3. click SETTINGS tab
4. click PUBLISHING
5. edit url (see screenshot above. Place where you type the new URL is indicated by cursor (arrow) and also "Type new URL here" in red
Remember to save settings.
Your success will depend on whether the URL has already been taken up or not.

NOTE:

Remember, if you changed the URL of your blog, any existing incoming links will become dead link. If your blog is relatively new, that may not be a problem, but if your blog has been on the Web for a long time, your blog will already have been indexed by search engines, and you will have to wait to be indexed by the search engines all over again, and for some time, people searching for content in your blog will get links that lead nowhere. You will lose your PageRank and will have to wait a long time to get a meaningful PageRank for blog with the new URL. People may have linked to your blog or posts and all these will become dead links. Further, there have been lots of reports of bloggers who deleted their blog or changed its URL. Sploggers grab the now available URL and use them for dubious uses the worst of which is pornography. This will be extremely embarrassing for you if your family, relatives, friends, colleagues, etc., have your old URL.

So if yours is an old blog, think very carefully before you change the URL. If you insist on doing it, I would suggest immediately try to re-register your old URL and use it to redirect the old blog to the new blog URL

FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th!

PALO ALTO, CA –Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March. Managing the site has become too stressful.


“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”
Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts.

“After March 15th the whole website shuts down,” said Avrat Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs at Facebook. “So if you ever want to see your pictures again, I recommend you take them off the internet. You won’t be able to get them back once Facebook goes out of business.”
Zuckerberg said that the decision to shut down Facebook was difficult, but that he does not think people will be upset.

“I personally don’t think it’s a big deal,” he said in a private phone interview. “And to be honest, I think it’s for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news.
“What am I going to do without Facebook?” said Denise Bradshaw, a high school student from Indiana. “My life revolves around it. I’m on Facebook at least 10 hours a day. Now what am I going to do with all that free time?”

However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief.
“I’m glad the Facebook nightmare is over,” said Jon Guttari, a single parent from Detroit. “Now my teenager’s face won’t be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her.”

Those in the financial circuit are criticizing Zuckerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest businesses in the world, with economists estimating its value at around 7.9 billion.

But Zuckerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He says he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the axe.

“I don’t care about the money,” said Zuckerberg. “I just want my old life back.”
The Facebook Corporation suggests that users remove all of their personal information from the website before March 15th. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased.

How to choose keyword for your Website

You should know what you would like your keyword or keyword phrase to be even before you begin writing your article or creating your web page. More important to have keyword and keyword phrases that are very specific to the topic you are providing the information about.

Below are a few things you should keep in mind when creating keyword and keyword phrases.

1) It should describe your site – This means that the chosen keyword should be like a word or a phrase which represents your site. It should be like a two to three word title which you have chosen for your page.

2) Good number of monthly searches – This means that the keyword you have chosen should have a good number of searches in search engine per month.

3) Low competition strength – This means that the keyword you have chosen should not be the obvious  or general or a one word. When you select a keyword, first think that how much difficult it will be for you to get in top 10 results in search engine for the given keyword.

4)  Avoid while selecting keyword: When creating a keyword phrase you should avoid filler words (EX: the, me, for, to...), these words are not as important and are not always ignored by the search engines. Stick to the main describing words for your web page.

5) Select best Keyword: When selecting a keyword or keyword phrase it is best to use a small group of words.

How to Calculate Keyword Density in word document

Keyword density is one of many ways for search engines to determine how relevant a web page is to a specific keyword or key phrase. It is an indication of often the chosen keyword appears on the page. While it is important to use your keywords regularly, you want to be careful not to go overboard. Try to make the text flow like a normal conversation.


If your keywords show up every other word, then your site will most likely be marked as spam and rejected.
Keyword density is determined by calculating the percentage of keywords in relation to other words on a web page.


Write your article or web page on Microsoft Word or equivalent program, utilizing the desired keyword or key phrase as naturally as possible. Remember, you can often change tense or add punctuation marks into a key phrase


Go to the toolbar at the top of Microsoft Word. Click on "Tools." From the drop down menu, click "Word Count."

Now you can figure out the word count by just clicking on the tool now up. Note that number and write it down if you have to.
Going back to the Microsoft Word toolbar, clik on "Edit", then click on "Find." In the window that appears, type in your keyword or key phrase used. It will then tell you how many times the keyword or key phrase has been used in the article. Note this number. Write it down if you have to,

On a calcultor, type in the number of times the keyword is used, then hit the "/" button or equivalent division sign, then type in your word count. A strange looking number will appear.


Add or subtract text and recalculate the keyword density until it is just right.
Example:
No of keyowrd = 40
No of word count= 1000

Formula: No of keyword / No of word count in content = Answer*100=  0000000%
Example:
40 / 1000 = 0.04 * 100 = 4%

What Is SEO

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is often considered the more important part of Web marketing. This is true because SEO does help in the promotion of sites and at the same time it requires some technical knowledge –  with basic HTML.
